Cultural Arts Rotary Announces $12,350 in Grants for Youth
Five Organizations Benefit for Arts Activities
Cultural Arts Rotary announced its annual grant awards for the year, providing five organizations with atotal of $12,350. Award amounts ranged from $1,000 to $4,400.
The Fresno Arts Council received $4,400 to support local youth through the galleries and history of the Fresno Water Tower.
The Central High Wind Ensemble is performing at Carnegie Hall in March 2018, one of six groups invited. Two scholarships were provided for two young musicians to attend. The $3,500 award contributes toward their total fund-raising goal of $116,000.
Fresno EOC Sanctuary received $2,250 to support the filling of 200 stockings for youth at the Making Spirits Bright event for families and for survivors of human trafficking throughout the month of December. CARC members will assist with the filling of the stockings.
Fresno State’s Theatre for Young Audiences will bring four schools the Wondrous Tales of Old Japan production. It is a collection of Japanese folk tales presented in Kabuki theatre style. The award is $1,200.
Adventure Risk Challenge has been awarded $1,000.00 to be used for the purchase of curricular supplies and gear to support their Poetry and the Spoken Word Program.
